Our Coming of Age program consists of a series of age-appropriate workshops, mentorship opportunities, and community service projects, culminating in a ceremonial dinner. The program is designed to help young adults build essential skills, develop a strong mindset, and foster a sense of social responsibility as they transition from childhood to pre-adolescence.

The Program
Ask how students can end up with $100 in a Harbor One bank account. The Coming of Age program is open to youth ages 11 to 14. There are slots for 15 boys and 15 girls. The four workshops are designed around the concepts of self-determination, self-awareness, positive imaging, and financial empowerment. There is a $50 upfront fee for the program which will be given back to the students after they complete all 5 events.
Part I: Self-Determination
This workshop encourages scholars to dream about their future and create a vision board to help them prepare and move their dreams into small, actionable, realistic steps. |
Part II: Self-Awareness
Designed to encourage the scholars to love their "right now" self and see the possibilities of who they can be as they grow and change. |
Part III: Positive Self Imaging
This third workshop will challenge scholars to rethink their actions on and offline, to consider the consequences, and to make choices that project a positive online and in-person image. |
Part IV: Financial Empowerment
This workshop will explore how choices made around savings, credit, and investing can impact future purchases, employment, and housing. |
